Jason E. Kemp is a passionate preservice art teacher currently pursuing a Postgraduate K-12 Art Education Certificate at the Lamar Dodd School of Art, University of Georgia. With a BFA in Ceramics/3D Design and a minor in Anthropology from Georgia State University, Jason combines his artistic expertise with a deep appreciation for cultural and historical contexts.
Jason has gained hands-on teaching experience at Winterville Elementary School, Dove Creek Middle School, Lamar Dodd Summer Art Camp, Creative Explorers Summer Camp, and the Contemporary Art Studio after-school program. His teaching philosophy emphasizes creativity, exploration, and connecting art to students' lived experiences. He has developed and implemented innovative units on ceramics, papermaking, and other art forms for a variety of age groups.
In addition to teaching, Jason is active in curating art shows, such as a recent exhibition for K-12 artists at the University of Georgia. He is committed to fostering a love for the arts and preparing students to think critically and creatively.
